NEW YORK, 3 AUG – North Korea has called for immediate humanitarian aid after the floods that occurred last month. United Nations representatives in Pyongyang have reported a disastrous situation in the country including food shortage. During the flood 119 people have died and tens of thousands were left homeless. The North Korean government has asked for food, drinking water and fuel. The flooding came after a severe drought earlier this year. According to a UN report the whole population go through a chronic food shortages.
